Same Kind of Different as Me

Same Kind of Different as Me - Ron Hall, Denver Moore This book was very well written. A memoir, it tells the story of Dever Moore, a former sharecropper, homeless and untrusting of white folk ever since he stopped to help a white lady broken down on the side of the road and received a beating for his effort. Ron Hall is a man who is wealthy and egotistical, fighting to save his marriage after an affair, and as a result is pressed into service by his wife to help out at a homeless shelter. What transpires is the overwhelmingly heart-felt story of the bond that these two men develop because of the effort of Ron's wife Debbie, or Bossy White Lady as Denver calls her. You will never look at a homeless person in quite the same way again. Everybody has a story that has led them to where they are today. Where they are today may not be the norm. Instead of judging, try helping, and see who really gets blessed by the effort. 5 stars!
